Jubilee Furniture weekly update for May 24, 2013

Have you ever felt like you were in a season of life where you were operating at full throttle? All the time?  That’s how I’m feeling these days.

Don’t get me wrong – wonderful things are happening (two graduations and a wedding) – but I’m physically and mentally going 17 hours a day.  It’s at times like this that I’m reminded – again – that I’m not 25 years old anymore!

25 year olds are often at the perfect time in their lives to discover Jubilee Furniture.  Many are finding and furnishing a first apartment and so a 30,000 square foot warehouse chocked full of amazing, gently used furniture (and some household items) at reasonable prices is like finding a gold mine! A gold mine on North Ave. in Carol Stream, Illinois!  Woot to the woo!

Here are a FEW of the things you’ll find at Jubilee Furniture today from 1 to 8 and tomorrow from 9 to 4:

wonderful loveseat priced $125; matching sofa has an issue with the springs (donor said easily repaired) priced $50

gorgeous round side table priced $65

Room & Board sofa – from their Clarke collection – retails for over $2,000 – excellent condition – some fading – priced $395

sofa some wear and issues with the piping coming out – priced $40

lovely wingback chair – needs to be cleaned – priced $80

this sofa and  loveseat are covered in a wonderful fabric with birds on it – sofa is priced $65; loveseat is $45 – both pieces need to be cleaned; fabulous side table (in front of sofa) is $45

these are fantastic Flexsteel oversized chairs in excellent condition – chair and ottoman priced $150; chair is priced $125

Wheaton College donated about 16 of these sofa manufactured by RJ London specifically for “institutions of higher education” (that’s from their website) – they have a 25 year warranty so you know they’re built to last.  Overall, they’re in excellent condition (some have a small rip here or there); – we’ve priced them $60 each

we also have about 14 matching chairs again from RJ London and they too are in very good condition and are priced $30 each

this is an amazing BarcaLounger rocker/recliner (I love the stripes) priced $50

I thought these were blue checked pieces – Teresa thought green – sometimes it’s hard to tell under our poor lighting (you’re welcome to take a cushion outside so you can see what color it REALLY is!) – the sofa is priced $65; matching chair is $40; end table in first photo is $25

slip-covered Smithe Craft chair and ottoman priced $125

donor told me her grandfather made this smaller bed with drawers – a special sized mattress is needed – sweet yellow piece priced $40

gorgeous glass and metal table and two chairs priced $155

white metal bunk bed (top bunk is twin size; lower full) priced $125

sweet as pie drop leaf table and two chairs for $65

excellent condition sleeper sofa priced $125; coffee table is $35

this week we received a wonderful donation from the Bright Horizons’ child care center in Oak Brook – the stackable child’s chairs are manufactured by Virco and are priced $8 each (there is some rust on the chrome parts but the chairs are solid and well built); cubbies, bookcases and child height tables haven’t been priced yet – but talk to me or Dan if you’re interested

No matter what season of life you’re in, dear reader, I pray you’re valuing relationships, looking for opportunities to bless others, remembering to laugh often and not take yourself too seriously (can you tell that’s something I need to work on?).
