Design and style brand Made in Ratio will be showcasing its second furnishings collection at the idea gallery Spazio Verger at the 2014 edition of Salone del Mobile in Milan.
Stem Stool, Collection 2 by Created in Ratio
Designed and created by Creative Director Brodie Neill, Made in Ratio combines forward pondering design and the heritage of craftsmanship, material and method. Collection 2 consists of 5 new pieces and 5 new materials. “The Stem Stool has a sculptural simplicity yet functional elegance, the cast 100% recycled aluminum element swivels and encompasses the stem, footrest and seat in one particular.” says Created in ratio. “This piece builds on the same biomorphic forms as the Supernova table in Collection 1 and is also cast in the same foundry in the UK. New materials and processes such as thermoformed PET felt have been utilised to striking impact. The stackable stool, for example, is produced from recycled drinking bottles and is also 25% recyclable itself.”
Tetra Shelving, Collection 2 by Produced in Ratio
“The Tetra shelving system has endless possibilities and builds on the tips of multiples, creating a range of functions from a repeated unit. The name comes from the tessellation located in the scales of a tetra fish but also references the retro laptop game Tetrus with its interwoven developing blocks. Each and every unit is created from European White Oak fashioned into completely proportioned trapezoid that can be stacked and repeated to produce a multitude of configurations.”
