I ran into a long-time Jubilee Furniture volunteer at the grocery store last Saturday and then had the pleasure of speaking to several regular customers by phone this week. All four encounters reminded me how much I miss working at the store.
That’s probably the only down-side I see to our growth over the last eight years – the relationships I’ve developed with so many of you that seem to have ended with my new role working exclusively with donors. As I’ve thought about it I’ve come up with a couple of ideas so you and I can stay in touch. Ready?
- Become a donor! You know the kind of quality furniture we accept – do some late-summer furniture purging and then call me at (630) 337-1467 to schedule a FREE donation pickup. You’ll help area kids and families through the programs and services at Outreach Community Ministries AND you and I can catch up! Win/win!
- Email me at sgalbraith@outreachcommin.org and let’s have coffee (or tea in my case)! I work Monday through Friday in downtown Wheaton (where Outreach’s main offices are) and would love to take a break and see you!
Don’t know who I am and think my invitation to meet for coffee is super weird? No problem! Ignore the opening few paragraphs and continue scrolling to see SOME of the fantastic, fabulous, amazing, wonderful furniture available at Jubilee Furniture!
these are very attractive leather pieces by DeCoro. Each piece has some areas where the leather is cracked and peeling off. On the chairs – the issues are much more minor than the sofa (the last photo is of the seat cushion on the sofa where there are a number of cracks). We’re selling the chairs for $125 each and the sofa for $195. Also note – my camera flash actually made some of the imperfections look worse than they really are
lovely floral chaise – one piece of trim needs to be reattached – priced $65
I don’t remember seeing this Century sofa before so snapped a picture and then looked at the price tag and it was marked down 25% – so obviously it’s been around a bit! Current price is $101.25 (started at $135)
this is a gorgeous onyx quartz top square coffee table (measures 3’ 4” x 3’ 4”) which retails for $2,000. Jubilee Furniture price? $645 (that’s almost 70% OFF the retail price!)
this is a cool chrome and – what I believe is aged suede (some suede gets hard when it’s older and hasn’t been cleaned or conditioned over the years) – retro side chair by Patrician Furniture Co. Priced $45
fabulous, amazing Room & Board sofa for $295 (woot!)
so sweet needle-point chair for $45 (amazing price!)
this Vanguard chair lived in my son’s room for years and is super comfy and still in very good condition – priced $55
blue leather sofa from Marshall Fields – in excellent condition – priced $165 (another incredible deal!)
sleek chrome and glass round coffee table priced $225
two wonderful retro chairs – one with arms which is priced $75 and the one without arms is $65 (there’s a small crack at the top of the arm-less chair)
this retro sofa totally stole my heart – it looks in excellent condition – fun avocado color print – priced $295 (which is s steal! [Stole my heart. Price is a steal. Aren’t I the clever one this morning!?])
this is a fun eye-catching sofa or entry table – I noticed one chip in the glass – priced $55
and then look at this small round glass top side table – great accent piece! – the base is plaster and not a heavy concrete – priced $20
this ottoman reminds me of a four-leaf clover! What lucky person will take it home? Priced $45 (four leaf clover/lucky person – I’m cracking myself up this morning!)
gorgeous vintage table with two leaves and six chairs (two with arms and four arm-less) – table top has some scratches (but nothing too bad). I saw a small hole in the caning of one of the chairs. Price for all is $415
man-oh-man – this is an amazing, antique, quarter sawn oak buffet with mirror attachment – in excellent condition! Priced $515
Basset table with 1 leaf and four chairs (really solid, heavy, wood furniture – very well made) priced $215
two mission-style side chairs priced $55 each (and there are more in the back)
I’ll end with a basket full of fabric samples (there are two grommets at the top of each piece) priced $2 each – and a trunk full of pillows which are $8 each
There you have it, dear reader! Another week of incredible donations which translates into amazing inventory – priced to sell – just waiting for you to purchase and take home!
