I haven’t posted any update photos on the expansion/construction in a couple of weeks because it’s been too dark to take exterior photos when I arrive. But this week there are INTERIOR photos to share and it’s very exciting and really taking shape (photos start at the front west corner of the building and work around the side to the back wall. Last photo shows a smidgen of the “old” west wall [our current showroom is just on the other side of it]).
Windows are in and last night a number of volunteers from First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn were hanging dry wall! If you remember we’re enclosing the area that was roofed but not walled. It will add roughly 3,000 square feet to the building and part will be used for warehouse space and part for more showroom.
Why do we need more room? Because we’re bursting at the seams with inventory – that’s why! Before we get to this week’s photos, let me remind you of our store hours for the next two weeks.
The store will be:
- OPEN today, Thursday, 12/18 from 1 to 8; tomorrow, Friday, 12/19 from 1 to 8 and Saturday, 12/20 from 9 to 4
- CLOSED Thursday, 12/25; OPEN Friday, 12/26 from 1 to 8 and Saturday, 12/27 from 9 to 4
- CLOSED Thursday, 01/01; OPEN Friday, 01/02 from 1 to 8 and Saturday, 01/03 from 9 to 4
So, now let’s take a look at SOME of our current inventory. Our Furniture Gallery is another resource which allows you to browse what’s available without coming into the store!
this is a lovely large dresser with mirrored hutch – looks good but it’s big – so priced to sell at only $35
white-washed rattan shelving unit priced $55
this size dresser gets me every time! I love how it could be used so many different ways (add a changing pad and it’s a changing table! put your flat screen on it and it’s a media center! use it in a dining room as a buffet! as an entry table! extra storage in a hall way!). Priced $30 (drawers seem to stick a little)
due to the volume of odd chairs we have – the price on a lot of them has been dropped to ONLY ONE DOLLAR! Yep – add tax and you could walk out with a fine extra chair for $1.08! Adding extra seating for the holidays was never cheaper!
sweet painted/stained three drawer small dresser/night stand for $15
lovely pine solid wood bookcase for $22
art deco two drawer night stands (one stacked on top of another) priced $15 each
wonderful white wicker desk for $25
Blowing Rock Furniture retro table with one leaf and four chairs (three without arms, one with). Last photo shows where some veneer is coming off one of the chairs. LOVE the curved piece connecting the legs of the table. Top is Formica. Priced $345 for the set
storage cabinet – top is Formica. Priced $45
sort of “old school” wood bar stools. Need a little TLC. Priced $20 each and there are two of them
totally fun and colorful loveseat and sofa. Both pieces are showing a fair amount of wear. Loveseat is $20; sofa for $25
gorgeous mid-century modern side chairs. Priced $45 each and there are two of them. Buffet (top opens for more serving space) is also priced $45
comfy oversized chair priced $65
two lovely blue watermarked side chairs – both in good condition – priced $25 each
loose pillow back loveseat in good condition priced $90
reddish leather set includes: sofa for $135 (lots of wear on the seat cushions); loveseat for $165 (some wear but looks great); chair and ottoman for $145 (also some wear but looks good). All have amazing nail-head trim and structurally are fantastic!
this lighted curio cabinet has lovely oak trim and a solid glass front that does not open. Instead you access the interior of the cabinet through the doors on the SIDE of the piece. Gives it a really clean look. Would be perfect for a collection that you want to be highly visible (since there aren’t any doors in the front to hinder viewing). Priced only $45
muted orange sleeper sofa priced $50
fun recliner (some wear) for $45
loveseat and sofa by LT Designs. The loveseat is priced $55 and the sofa $75
two piece sectional (two seater “wing” is a sleeper) from Restoration Hardware. One corner has a rip and there is overall wear but this is a solid sectional in a great neutral fabric and still has a lot of life left in it! Priced only $75
this black leather chair is by International A.I.M. and I just googled them and it looks like their furniture is sold by Target (though not currently available). There is one small rip on the seat cushion (and you can’t flip it over since there’s no leather on the other side). Priced $65
I don’t know what my problem is but I want to buy ALL THE RED FURNITURE IN THE WORLD! It’s just so cheery! This super sweet side table has a neat feature. Both the trays lift off to make serving/clean up a snap! Priced $35
totally fun retro sleeper sofa with a bird/tree fabric upholstery! Overall, in good shape. Priced $35
four stools (you know how there are several different height stools? These aren’t as tall as some – fyi) with rush seats (rush is coming off one of them – see second photo – otherwise in great condition). Priced $40 for the set (unbelievable price!)
gorgeous wool area rug in rich tones – 10’4” x 8’3” – priced $175
I’ll be off from the 24th through January 2nd (returning to work on Monday, January 5th) so won’t have any update photos until Thursday, January 8th (but will put up a store hours reminder post next week).
Merry Christmas, dear reader! May you be surrounded by folks you love and much holiday cheer over the next few weeks!
