I hate being wrong. Oh, I know I’m wrong on a daily basis – and that’s life – but I hate it when I remember something and am 99% sure I’m right only to find out later I’m not. Trust me, I’ve eaten plenty of humble pie in my life – but I choke it down every time. Thankfully, as I’ve gotten older I usually less often take an “I am absolutely right” attitude towards things like…oh, how much the bank charges for a cashier’s check type of things. I distinctly remember thinking whatever price they charged me for a cashier’s check several months ago was highway robbery – that said, it had to have been $20 or $25, right?
So, when my husband told me we needed to send someone another cashier's check my response was, “Really? Wouldn’t a personal check do? Our bank charges an arm and a leg for a cashier’s check!” With his wife’s firm knowledge there was a vast fee to purchase a cashier’s check, he fired off an email pleading for an exception to the cashier’s-check-only policy.
This morning I found the receipt for the cashier’s check I purchased earlier this year only to see a charge of $10. Oops. Maybe highway robbery was an exaggeration?
Thankfully, I NEVER exaggerate when describing the amazing, wonderful, fantastic, gorgeous things to be found at Jubilee Furniture every Friday from 1 to 8 and Saturday from 9 to 4! NEVER!
Come on, I’ll show you to prove my point!
super nice brown velour sofa for $265; matching chair and ottoman (ottoman not shown in photo) $195
this Homer’s sofa is actually four separate pieces and can be configured in many different ways – orange velvet has a great imprint design that doesn’t show up in this photo (why do I keep stating the obvious?) and is priced $155 for the whole thing
lovely, curved, three piece sectional by Plunkett’s priced $225
this gorgeous plaid sofa was covered by a slipcover and is in excellent condition (except for some snags along back and the back of one arm like it had been rubbing against a wall?) and is priced $195
rocker/recliner priced $95
orange velvet (what’s with all the orange and velvet?) retro sofa for $45
well made Drexel two piece sectional – fraying along trim/piping – priced $75
it’s not too early to buy Dad one – or both – of these great side chairs featuring old time golfers! Priced $75 each
white-washed wood on this chair which has pegs so you can adjust the back and recline – and ottoman priced $125 for the pair
great, solid, two drawer file cabinets by Allsteel (when I was writing the price tags I wrote “Allstate” on one of them accidently!) priced $40 each
gorgeous armless sofa by Kaylyn priced $225
lovely rattan chairs – there are three of them – and they’re priced $75 each
nice oval table and six chairs (table does not have a leaf, so I’m honestly not sure if you could comfortably get the six chairs around it) priced $145
this farmhouse table and four chairs (which need to be dusted!) is sold oak and in great condition and might be my favorite piece this week – and is priced $225 for the set
this oatmeal color, nubby fabric, three piece sectional by Charlton (I wish I had taken a photo of the tag – because it had Charlton and then Century 21 on it and I can’t find that anywhere online) is HUGE and pretty faded in lots of unfortunate ways – but still amazing – priced $125; pine coffee table priced $85
great chair and ottoman – but need to be reupholstered – priced $35 for both
oh, I forgot about these amazing pieces by Rossi Bros. – retro velvet sofa priced $125; love seat $95; chair $85
wonderful retro chest of drawers priced $125; matching skinny one drawer night stand for $40
five drawer chest of drawers priced $45 (priced so low because I think I smelled cigarette smoke – but then I didn’t smell it on the desk – so I’m not sure); matching desk for $35 (now I don’t remember what I put on the wood desk chair $55 maybe?)
great oak desk priced $45
fantastic American Drew desk for $225
small white painted desk for $35 (Debbie – if you’re reading this – is this what you’re looking for?)
Monet inspired sleeper sofa for $125
I might be wrong about a lot of things but this I’m 100% absolutely right about and that is – Jubilee Furniture customers, donors, volunteers and blog readers are the best! And that includes you, dear reader!
Did someone mention pie? :-)
